Will Smith is wanted by Quentin Tarantino

21 May

It was announced few weeks ago that Will Smith will not only be producing, but starring next to his son Jaden in M.Night Shyamalan’s new sci-fi untitled project which is written by Gary Whitta and Mr. Shyamalan himself. But let’s put that aside now, for they are still working on it. You will be updated on that here.

Now Mr. Shyamalan’s main actor, mega star and talented Will Smith is also wanted by Quentin Tarantino for a project that Mr. Tarantino has written. He calls it, ‘Django Unchained.’ The screenplay has been making hollywood rounds for weeks and one of the leads is Mr. Tarantino’s ‘Inglorious Basterds’ Academy Award winning star, Christoph Waltz who is playing Dr. King Schultz.

Mr. Tarantino claims that he wrote the screenplay with Will Smith in mind. The story centers on a slave turned bounty hunter on a mission to rescue his wife Broomhilda from her sadistic slavemaster. And insiders are claiming that Will Smith is willing to work, for he’s been looking for edgier roles. Mr. Tarantino stated that he also offered a juicy supporting role to Brad Pitt who decided to not pursue the role at this time.

Mr. Tarantino does not have any distributors yet, but it seems like Harvey Weistein is going to be handling the project, for they have been handling Tarantino’s previous films. Looks like Will Smith’s plate will be full for three next years as he is signed to work with Mr. Shyamalan, in Bary Sonnefeld’s Men In Black 3 and now ‘Django Unchained’. Which film of Will Smith are you looking forward to the most?
